Motive For Life Level Up Workbook – Robert’s Friday Roundup for November 26, 2021

Hello Everyone! – November 26, 2021

Motive For Life Workbook

After last week’s accident, I was able to find my footing again and move forward on the next project – the Motive For Life 90-Day Level Up workbook.  The idea came from a good friend (Paul Angles) while we were discussing goals for 2022.  “Workbooks are an excellent way for people to put your work into action,” Paul exclaimed.  “Plus they are easy to publish.”

Paul was right.  I already have the materials – all I need to do is organize them into a workbook and arrange for printing through KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing).

So this week I’ve spent my early morning framing up the 90-Day program, using techniques from my coaching practice, courses, and MasterMinds.  We’ve been developing, testing, and publishing these exercises for over 7 years with an overwhelming amount of evidence to support their effectiveness.

Look for the Motive For Life Level Up workbook (working title) the second week of January 2022!

Bob Doyle is an Executive Coach and the  CEO of Boundless Living. Over the past 20 years, Bob has been helping people work with the Law of Attraction and transform their lives. He is best known for his role as a Law of Attraction expert and coach in the movie, The Secret. Since 1998, Bob has taught the principles of personal transformation through programs, live events, podcasts, coaching, and writing. Though still grounded in the Law of Attraction, Bob’s focus has shifted from the metaphysical aspects to the brain’s role in the process of reality creation.

Bob joins the Motive For Life podcast to explain the relationship between the brain’s neuroplasticity and manifestation. He describes why it’s difficult for many people to transform their lives and discusses why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for many people. He also shares the steps you can take toward changing your brain’s wiring and underscores the importance of being non-negotiable about the kind of person you want to become.

This week on The Model FA Podcast:

  • Why Bob shifted his focus away from the Law of Attraction to the brain’s power to create reality
  • How meaning drives us into action
  • Why rewire your brain and what makes personal transformation happen
  • What makes personal transformation difficult and why people fail at the Law of Attraction
  • What it means to manifest on autopilot
  • Why Bob thinks it’s a waste of time to convince people about the Law of Attraction
  • The first steps toward rewiring the brain and the power of visualizing your day

How I Get Over A Mistake – Robert’s Friday Roundup for November 19, 2021

Hello Everyone!

November 19, 2021

How I Get Over A Mistake

This week I hit a curb while driving from 134 Freeway to the 2 Freeway in Los Angeles.  No injuries except for my bruised ego.

When you live in a world where nothing happens by mistake, you must look at every situation – good or bad – ask yourself, “why did this happen?”  What is the underlying cause of this event?

I believe my unconscious intentions manifest daily in life.  Negative voices and emotions produce adverse outcomes, and the same is true for positive voices and feelings.  The road I travel today was paved by the language, images, and emotions from yesterday.  Therefore, if I accept this as accurate, then every experience results from my prior thinking.

Hard stuff to truly accept when bad shit happens.  We readily take credit when good stuff lands in our lap.  However, getting responsibility for everything – good and bad – is a whole other level of ownership.

Back to the accident – I ran over a curb doing 65 mph!  What the hell was I thinking?  In truth, I wasn’t thinking; I reacted to a signal from my navigation system and ran over what I thought were white lines that separated the offramp from the main freeway lanes.  It turned out the white lines were a curb.

The result – $200 for a new tire, a $440 tow from LA to Costa Mesa, a $210 mechanic fee (friend deal), wasted 4-5 hours of a Sunday, car in the shop for two days, and seriously questioning my decision-making abilities.  Owning this situation (which could have been much worse) comes the acceptance of the issue and how I get over it.

Getting over a mistake is rooted in taking ownership of the outcome—humble acceptance of the situation and remedying the problem.  When I step into the solution, own it, and work on repairs, I feel better, learn the lessons, and feel better about myself.

Ownership is the key to getting through mistakes.

How To Stay Married 30 Years – Robert’s Friday Roundup for November 12, 2021

Hello Everyone!

November 12, 2021

How We Stayed Married 30 Years

On November 2, my wife and I celebrated 30 years married.  We traveled to Mammoth Lakes, CA for a four day, three night get away to chill out and take in the great mountain air and scenery.

While on the trip I asked myself, ‘what did it take to stay happily married for three decades?’  Here’s what came to me…

  • Respect – As long as there is respect, the marriage has a foundation to build upon.  Without respect, no amount of love or passion will enable the relationship to survive.  Times get hard, people change, and life events put a strain on the relationship.  Respect is the foundation that enabled us to build and grow forward.
  • Three Entities – There are three entities in our marriage – my wife, myself, and the marriage itself.  From the beginning, my wife and I needed our own space.  I traveled for business which gave me my space, and while I was gone, she was able to create her space, and when we were together, we looked after the marriage.  The 3 Entities concept works for us.
  • Boundaries – I am not the same man I was when we married and neither is my wife.  Our children have grown and moved out, finances are not a struggle as they were in the beginning, and we have different views on the world than we did 30 years ago.  With these changing points of view come adjustments and acceptance.  With respect to the foundation, allowing my partner the space to express her views (without judgment) is critical.
  • Honesty and Courage – Speaking our truth, no matter how painful the other may find it, is critical to longevity.  This relates to the prior virtues of respect and boundaries.  When I speak my truth with kindness, I am transparent and my partner does not try to guess what I really mean.  This is hard from time to time.  Truth can be painful but without it, the relationship dissolves.

Hope these help you in your quest for long-term partnerships!

Spending Money on a Trainer
This week I met with my trainer.  Each week he presses me to do more – more flexibility, more weight, and different exercises.  I also go through a mental battle with the money I am spending – it is not cheap.Good coaches are never cheap, however, they are worth it!

Since I’ve started with my training 15 weeks ago, I have…

  • Lost 17 pounds
  • Gone from 26% body fat to 20%
  • Reduced my joint stiffness and increased my flexibility
  • Significantly lifted my energy level
  • Consistently get 7 – 8 hours sleep a night

What price would you pay for these life benefits?  These are foundational and support the quality of my life in multiple areas including business and relationships.  More specifically, my confidence is at an all-time high as a result of having accomplished these goals.

Self-worth is so critical to every aspect of my lift.  Higher self-worth enabled me to spend money on the thing that is core to my personal well-being:  my health.

A Massive Red Zone – Robert’s Friday Roundup for November 5, 2021

Hello Everyone!

November 5, 2021

A Massive Red Zone!

This week I ran face-first in to the Red Zone!

The Red Zone is an emotional state I enter when I exceed my level of worthiness, specifically the upper limit of what I believe I deserve.  When I reach a new level of success (or an opportunity to achieve success), Red Zone emotions set in.  If unchecked, the Red Zone starts the downhill slide of subtle and weird self-sabotage behaviors.

However, after practicing the exercises I detail in my book (The Bug In Our Brain), I’m able to catch the Red Zone and “ride out” the emotional rollercoaster until my worthiness rises to a new level.

This Week Was A Whopper!

On Monday, Pallas Pens received a huge endorsement and will be at the most important promotional products tradeshow – PPAI Expo in Las Vegas this January.  Not only did we learn a ton about promotional products, but the CEO of a very prominent distributor also jumped all over the Pallas Pen product line, calling it “genius and timely” and has lined up multiple opportunities!

OK – Here’s where the Red Zone came in.  As soon as I finished the meeting, a muscle spasm in my lower back knocked me to my knees!  Mind you, I am in great physical shape, meditate every day, eat wonderfully, and calm most days!

Yet, the Red Zone jumped on me like a mad dog!

What I Did To Get Out Of The Red Zone

Instantly I knew what to do – this is where training matters.  I turned inward and addressed the “thing” inside me that does not want me to go to the next level.  Its job is to keep the environment the same, keep conditions the same.  Here’s what I said:

  • “I know you are protecting me and I appreciate your help, however, I got this.”
  • “You are safe and protected.  I am here.  All is good.”
  • “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious, and happy.”
  • “Everything works out to our highest good.  It’s OK, you can let go now.”

In addition to the above, I relaxed and practiced long, deep breathing – 5 counts in, 7 counts out.  I applied heat to my lower back and allowed myself 24 hours to rest and relax.

As of this writing, I have no back pain (48 hrs later).  The Red Zone has passed and I feel worthy of accepting this partner’s help in making Pallas Pens a success!

Lessons Learned

Everyone enters the Red Zone – no one is exempt.  The difference between those who succeed and those how fail in achieving their goals are those who recognize Red Zone emotions and take steps to “ride through the turmoil” and let their self-worth raise to the next level.

Sleep, Meditation, and Mental Health
Over the last week, I’ve wrestled with the pain in my lower back while knowing that it is the result of an upper limit problem and the Red Zone. This weird dichotomy of subconscious emotions coupled with the physical pain of back spasms really pushed on my belief system and the practices I teach. All through the week, I talked to myself in a calm and caring manner, never condemning myself for being “stupid or irrational” regarding the Red Zone.  I treated the “other self” as if it was a fearful young child who only wants to keep things the way they are.  When the scared child inside me believes I am going to protect him and care for him, he lets go of my back and I quickly move out of pain.

This week’s meditations were focused on this practice.  It worked and much of the week was easy and joyful.

Robert’s Friday Roundup – October 29, 2021

Hello Everyone!

October 29, 2021

The Three Most Important Questions You Can Ask Yourself

This week the focus was on these very important questions and how they elevate self-worth.  They are:

  1. What Do I Need Most Right Now?
  2. What Is My Highest Good?
  3. What Do I Need To Let Go Of?

These questions really pressed me in critical areas – forcing me to think about what really is important and what do I need “right now”, what value am I adding to the world, and what within me needs to go?  Listen to this week’s podcast where I dive deep into these questions and how I navigated them.

Sleep, Meditation, and Mental Health
Back on track!  I forced myself to get into bed no later than 9:30 pm every night this week.  The results are overwhelmingly positive.  I feel better and act better.Dehydration – I have a very hard time drinking enough water.  When I am dehydrated (drink less than 64 oz of water a day), my body feels poorly and I hurt physically.  The manifestation of physical problems as a result of dehydration look like the following:

  • Lower left leg tendon pain – discovered this problem during the week!
  • Red and or bloodshot eyes
  • Cough and heavy mucus in my nose
  • Stiffness in the joints, less flexible.

Mindfulness is the answer – pay attention to what I am doing.  I must drink enough water or I feel bad.  Simple equation but often one that gets overlooked.  I believe it is the Red Zone and a way to self-sabotage my body and emotions by limiting the water intake.

Self-worth and the Upper Limit are real and show up all over.  In my case, not drinking enough water is a Red Zone, self-sabotage behavior.  I must pay attention and watch for this!

Transparency and Telling the Truth

Last weekend I had a significant breakthrough that led to several pivotal discussions – in both my business and personal lives.  I discovered that I need people more than I need my anger.  This realization has resonated within my bones for days – ringing true across all my relationships.  At the core of this discovery is the knowledge that ‘I need people’.  I need people like I need food, air, and water.

I’m grateful for this knowledge and must remember it whenever I get angry and resentful.

Pallas Pens – Stalled in the Harbor

Our inventory is stuck in the harbor of LA.  However, that is not the reason for the slow start of our sales.  I’m stuck in a Red Zone and struggling to take the next sales steps necessary to move Pallas Pens to the next level.  I’m certain the inventory that is floating in the LA harbor would magically arrive at our warehouse as soon as my partner and I come out of our fear.

Make no mistakes, we are stuck in fear, and moving the company forward is going to require getting off our asses and putting our egos at risk.

I’ll keep you posted as to how it goes.

Between last week’s courses and this week’s vacation to Mammoth Lakes, CA my sleep is a little unregulated.  This blows back into my life and my thinking, which affects my progress and decisions.  However, I am getting 7 hours minimum and that is a baseline.  If I get less sleep, I come apart pretty rapidly.

Meditation is consistent, finding 20 minutes every day except Friday (today) which I overslept.  Again, needed to catch up on sleep.

Robert’s Friday Roundup – October 15, 2021

Hello Everyone!

Friday Roundup – October 15, 2021

This week was filled with communications challenges – from typos in emails to miscommunication on details for events.  Every aspect of my life was affected – some say it is Mercury in retrograde while others will chalk it up to a bunch of random computer problems.  No matter how you see it, this week was challenging and required a great deal of patience.

Pallas Pens – Squeaky Innovation

On Monday, we facilitated our first Innovation Workshop with a large hospital and university.  It was the first time I’ve been able to bring my Pallas Pens to a workshop and use them “for real”.  If you recall, the main reason we invented the Pallas Pen was to have a whiteboard writing toolset that traveled easily and was ready when we needed them.

The case and pens performed wonderfully.  After several hours of writing without problems, it dawned on me that the pens were making a “squeaky” noise as I wrote.   When I let up on the writing pressure, the squeaking stopped.  After a few tries, I determined that I was the problem – not the pen.  Apparently, I apply a lot of pressure on the pen which would account for the smashed tips of Expos pens!

Learning something new every day!

Money Mastery Course

We are in the last week of the course and Jeff and I could not be prouder of the team.  Everyone is pushing through their barriers, discovering how to overcome their fears, and elevate their worthiness to attain the next level of success.

The key to wealth attainment is to create an internal sense of self-worth that believes in receiving and growing wealth.  Developing a higher self-worth money consciousness is critical to stepping into bigger opportunities.  The team has done an amazing job and we look forward to many more breakthroughs!

How to get out of a bad situation

This week’s post is about getting out of bad situations.  I only posted one video this week (mostly due to time commitments) but I wanted it to be meaningful and impactful.

Sleep, Meditation, and Health – Goal Weight
Reached my goal weight of 197 lbs (lost 14)!  After eight weeks of eating 1800 calories per day, every day while supporting an intermittent fasting cycle.  Here’s my typical daily routine:

  • Wake at 5 am – Drink 24 oz of water with vitamin supplements
  • Meditate for 20 minutes
  • 6 am – Gym and drink 32 oz of water while working out
  • 7:15 am – Latte with 8 oz of skim milk
  • Work
  • 11:30 am – Lunch of approx 600 calories.  I eat whatever I want but tend to focus on clean foods (greens, chicken, fruits). 16 oz water
  • Work – 16 oz water
  • 3:00 pm – Snack.  Lately has been dried dates.  5 dates = 120 calories.  Really good!
  • Work – 16 oz water (at least I try)
  • 6:00 pm – Dinner.  Wide-open.  I have 1100 or so calories to work with.  Typically select vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, beans, and some sort of starch-like paste.  No matter what, I select something that satisfies my starch desire.  I do not deny myself as long as I stay within the calories.
  • 9:30 pm – Bed

Money Mastery Course – The Self-Worth Mastermind Series is in its second week and we really dug into the tactics of organizing bank accounts and how to create pathways for money flow.  The cohort is exceptionally transparent – meaning they are getting real about their finances and demonstrating exceptional courage.

Daily Videos – Every day I post a new one-minute video.  Topics range from simple suggestions to the deep, philosophical ideals I ponder throughout the day.  All are rooted in the premise that higher self-worth is the basis of all advancement and the core of a great life.   Here are the social links:

Sleep, Meditation, and Mental Health
Lots of crazy-ass dreams.  Woke up one night at 2 am and could not get back to sleep.  Was able to get an hour before the day started, but wow!

I am practicing my mediation every day, however, this week has been a fight with my phone.  I pick it up and look at an app and the next thing you know, I’m looped into bullshit I don’t care about and meditation is much more difficult.  The commitment is to the practice, and that means focusing on the commitment, not my phone!  Will do better.

Eating and Drinking
Week 6 of intermittent fasting – lost 10 pounds and feeling good.  The hunger urges are amazing to witness.  The physical addiction to sugar and starch (potatoes, french fries, etc) simply overtakes me and I literally must stop what I am doing, breathe, and wait for it to pass.

I wish this was not the case.  However, there is a part of my psyche that does not want me to succeed – to stay stuck in a body I do not like.

My experience tells me that I need to make this a 90-day routine, practiced every day until my subconscious knows it is the new normal.  After 90-days, it should let up a bit.

Sayings I Heard This Week
“Doubt or unbelief is as certain to start a movement away from you as faith and purpose are to start one toward you.” – Wallace Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich.

“I must be willing to be uncomfortable, it is the price of success.” – Unknown

“I am no longer a victim of my thinking.” – Robert Christiansen

Motive Weekly Roundup

Robert’s Friday Roundup – September 17, 2021

Hello Everyone!

Hope you are having a great Friday and that you are safe.  This week was incredible – with lots of exciting opportunities and challenges.

Side Hustles
The Self-Worth Mastermind Series launched this week with our Money Mastery course from Motive For Life.  Our topic this week is the Power of Belief and Money.  Since money is a human creation and requires a belief system to give it power (consider the power of belief on the stock market and cryptocurrency), you can see why human belief is at the center of money issues and opportunities.

Jeff Hauser and I co-hosted the kickoff session and I’ll keep you in the loop as to how the course goes and what the first cohort is experiencing.

Pallas Pens Have Arrived!
Our first shipment of Pallas Pens arrived this week and we started shipping the pre-orders!  You can order your Pallas Pens here and get a set for everyone you know!

Also, Pallas Pens launched several new instructional videos last week on YouTube and promoted them via LinkedIn.  We are just now developing the SEO plan and targeting several whiteboard keywords.  So far, in less than 7 days, we have a nice number of views for a totally new topic and subject matter.

This week’s whiteboard skill is Storytelling and the Power of Thirds.  Find the video here.
What I’m Reading and Consuming
Gary Vaynerchuk continues to inspire me to push for greater social content and market awareness.  His podcast is a daily listen and something I genuinely love.  He can be a bit loud and talks over people however, I get and love his excitement and want to achieve at a higher level because of him.

Recommend chain-smoking his podcasts and consuming the content to get a flavor for him.  No doubt he is the dominant marketing persona in the industry today.  However, his best and most appealing characteristic is his focus on doing right and being happy.  Love it.

You can find GaryVee Audio Experience on Spotify here.

The Motive For Life Podcast
This week I went deep on finding your superpower in this  ‘a cappella’ recording and the Five Steps necessary to developing mastery and ownership of your talents.  The process of these five steps always helps me look at my character and ask, “Am I leading by example?”

Here are the Five Steps:

  1. Belief
  2. Seek
  3. Align
  4. Commit
  5. Lean In

Sleep, Meditation, and Mental Health
Lots of positive emotions this week – walking up feeling strong and mentally clear.  There appears to be very little fog in my days and I want to take advantage of these times of flow.

“LET GO” is a recurring theme that has entered my consciousness and is bouncing around my thoughts.  The question occurred to me, “What if I totally let go and let the flow of the Universe COMPLETELY handle my future?”

So, with that thought as my foundation, I am allowing FLOW to take over and put the future in the hands of the Creator.

The results are undeniable – I feel freer than I have felt in quite some time.  Just may extend the experiment!

Eating and Drinking
Weighed in at 203 most days this week.  Committed to my new food disciplines four weeks ago and have lost 9 – 10 pounds (depending on when I weigh myself).  So far, I feel great.  1800 calories every day and only eat between noon and 7 pm.

It works but some days are killer hard.  Hunger grabs me and doesn’t let go until I drink some water.  Speaking of water, struggling with getting enough – can’t seem to get more than 64 oz.  No matter how much I “commit” there seems to be a mental block.  Not beating myself up for it, just want to improve.

Sayings I Heard This Week
“There is a lot of gold in the ground and anyone can dig it up” – Unknown
“I am good at what I do because I start with knowing nothing.” – Legendary Tennis Coach Patrick Mouratoglou (GaryVee Interview is amazing)
“The best gift you can give someone is belief in them.” – Unknown
“I am 100% responsible for everything that happens in my life.” – Everyone that has a happy life.
