A Massive Red Zone – Robert’s Friday Roundup for November 5, 2021
/in friday roundups/by Support MotopressNovember 5, 2021
This week I ran face-first in to the Red Zone!
The Red Zone is an emotional state I enter when I exceed my level of worthiness, specifically the upper limit of what I believe I deserve. When I reach a new level of success (or an opportunity to achieve success), Red Zone emotions set in. If unchecked, the Red Zone starts the downhill slide of subtle and weird self-sabotage behaviors.
However, after practicing the exercises I detail in my book (The Bug In Our Brain), I’m able to catch the Red Zone and “ride out” the emotional rollercoaster until my worthiness rises to a new level.
This Week Was A Whopper!
On Monday, Pallas Pens received a huge endorsement and will be at the most important promotional products tradeshow – PPAI Expo in Las Vegas this January. Not only did we learn a ton about promotional products, but the CEO of a very prominent distributor also jumped all over the Pallas Pen product line, calling it “genius and timely” and has lined up multiple opportunities!
OK – Here’s where the Red Zone came in. As soon as I finished the meeting, a muscle spasm in my lower back knocked me to my knees! Mind you, I am in great physical shape, meditate every day, eat wonderfully, and calm most days!
Yet, the Red Zone jumped on me like a mad dog!
What I Did To Get Out Of The Red Zone
Instantly I knew what to do – this is where training matters. I turned inward and addressed the “thing” inside me that does not want me to go to the next level. Its job is to keep the environment the same, keep conditions the same. Here’s what I said:
In addition to the above, I relaxed and practiced long, deep breathing – 5 counts in, 7 counts out. I applied heat to my lower back and allowed myself 24 hours to rest and relax.
As of this writing, I have no back pain (48 hrs later). The Red Zone has passed and I feel worthy of accepting this partner’s help in making Pallas Pens a success!
Lessons Learned
Everyone enters the Red Zone – no one is exempt. The difference between those who succeed and those how fail in achieving their goals are those who recognize Red Zone emotions and take steps to “ride through the turmoil” and let their self-worth raise to the next level.
“Cheetos vs Veggies. It is not even close.” – Unknown

Over the last week, I’ve wrestled with the pain in my lower back while knowing that it is the result of an upper limit problem and the Red Zone. This weird dichotomy of subconscious emotions coupled with the physical pain of back spasms really pushed on my belief system and the practices I teach. All through the week, I talked to myself in a calm and caring manner, never condemning myself for being “stupid or irrational” regarding the Red Zone. I treated the “other self” as if it was a fearful young child who only wants to keep things the way they are. When the scared child inside me believes I am going to protect him and care for him, he lets go of my back and I quickly move out of pain.
This week’s meditations were focused on this practice. It worked and much of the week was easy and joyful.
Meditation Commitment
NEW – Listening to David Ji on Insight Timer. This meditation is called Deep Healing and really moved me. It is an invitation to meditate for 22 minutes for 50 days. I’m making this commitment. Excellent and you can find him here.

Robert’s Friday Roundup – October 29, 2021
/in friday roundups/by Support MotopressOctober 29, 2021
This week the focus was on these very important questions and how they elevate self-worth. They are:
These questions really pressed me in critical areas – forcing me to think about what really is important and what do I need “right now”, what value am I adding to the world, and what within me needs to go? Listen to this week’s podcast where I dive deep into these questions and how I navigated them.
“A mind, when left alone, will drift to the negative.” – Unknown
“God is in the pause.” – Someone I ran into at the market
“It is good to have someone in your corner.” – Rick Perry

Back on track! I forced myself to get into bed no later than 9:30 pm every night this week. The results are overwhelmingly positive. I feel better and act better.Dehydration – I have a very hard time drinking enough water. When I am dehydrated (drink less than 64 oz of water a day), my body feels poorly and I hurt physically. The manifestation of physical problems as a result of dehydration look like the following:
Mindfulness is the answer – pay attention to what I am doing. I must drink enough water or I feel bad. Simple equation but often one that gets overlooked. I believe it is the Red Zone and a way to self-sabotage my body and emotions by limiting the water intake.
Self-worth and the Upper Limit are real and show up all over. In my case, not drinking enough water is a Red Zone, self-sabotage behavior. I must pay attention and watch for this!

Robert’s Friday Roundup – October 22, 2021
/in friday roundups/by Support MotopressHello Everyone!
Friday Roundup – October 22, 2021
Transparency and Telling the Truth
Last weekend I had a significant breakthrough that led to several pivotal discussions – in both my business and personal lives. I discovered that I need people more than I need my anger. This realization has resonated within my bones for days – ringing true across all my relationships. At the core of this discovery is the knowledge that ‘I need people’. I need people like I need food, air, and water.
I’m grateful for this knowledge and must remember it whenever I get angry and resentful.
Pallas Pens – Stalled in the Harbor
Our inventory is stuck in the harbor of LA. However, that is not the reason for the slow start of our sales. I’m stuck in a Red Zone and struggling to take the next sales steps necessary to move Pallas Pens to the next level. I’m certain the inventory that is floating in the LA harbor would magically arrive at our warehouse as soon as my partner and I come out of our fear.
Make no mistakes, we are stuck in fear, and moving the company forward is going to require getting off our asses and putting our egos at risk.
I’ll keep you posted as to how it goes.

Good job!

Sleep, Meditation, and Mental Health
Between last week’s courses and this week’s vacation to Mammoth Lakes, CA my sleep is a little unregulated. This blows back into my life and my thinking, which affects my progress and decisions. However, I am getting 7 hours minimum and that is a baseline. If I get less sleep, I come apart pretty rapidly.
Meditation is consistent, finding 20 minutes every day except Friday (today) which I overslept. Again, needed to catch up on sleep.
NEW – Listening to Sonic Yogi on Insight Time – Excellent and you can find him here.

“From burrito cook to top sales rep – what a trip.” – Jimmy
